The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the petition filed by Murtala Ajaka challenging Usman Ododo’s victory in the Kogi gubernatorial elections.
In a unanimous decision, the tribunal upheld the election of Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the Governor of Kogi State.
The three-member panel of justices, headed by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu, ruled that Ajaka failed to prove that the irregularities affected the outcome of the election in Kogi State as reported by Naijanews.
“The Kogi State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal has affirmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress as the valid winner of the Kogi gubernatorial elections,” the tribunal said in its judgement. “Ajaka’s petition has been dismissed for lack of substantial evidence.”
The tribunal held that Ajaka did not provide “credible evidence” to prove the allegations made in his petition. “The tribunal finds that the petitioner did not lay out a sufficiently persuasive case,” the tribunal noted.
“In dismissing Ajaka’s petition, the court finds that the evidence presented was insufficient to prove that the irregularities were ‘substantial’ enough to affect the outcome of the election.”
The tribunal’s decision was also backed by other evidence it had seen. “The tribunal has had the opportunity to examine the submissions and evidence presented by the parties in this matter,” the tribunal said.
“Based on the submissions and evidence before it, the tribunal has determined that Ajaka’s petition lacks merit and should be dismissed.”
“The tribunal therefore affirms Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress as the legitimate winner of the Kogi gubernatorial elections.”
The tribunal’s judgement is a comprehensive and well-reasoned decision that follows from the evidence presented to it during the proceedings.
“The tribunal has weighed all of the evidence and arguments advanced by both Ajaka and Ododo and has concluded that Ododo’s victory is to be upheld,” the tribunal stated.
“In light of the clear and substantive evidence presented, the tribunal has no option but to dismiss Ajaka’s petition.”
The tribunal’s judgement was based on a thorough examination of all the relevant facts and evidence in this matter.
“The tribunal has carefully studied all of the submissions made by both parties in this case and has reached its decision in an impartial and unbiased manner,” the tribunal concluded.
“The tribunal’s decision is comprehensive and well-reasoned, and it is clear that it has not favored any party or taken anything but an objective view of the evidence and arguments before it.”
In its judgement, the tribunal provided a detailed and thorough analysis of the issues at stake, leaving no doubt as to the reasons behind its decision.
“The tribunal has gone through the submissions and has come to its conclusions based on the merits of the arguments made by both sides,” the tribunal said.
“The tribunal has taken care to ensure that its decision is firmly grounded in the evidence presented to it and has been guided by principles of objectivity and impartiality.”
The tribunal’s judgement is a clear and authoritative statement that removes any ambiguity regarding the matter.
“The tribunal has taken all of the relevant factors into consideration and has reached its decision purely on the basis of the facts and arguments placed before it,” the tribunal stated.
“The tribunal’s decision is final and is to be considered the definitive word on this matter.”
In conclusion, the tribunal has spoken and has ruled decisively in favor of Usman Ododo’s election as the Governor of Kogi State.
“The tribunal’s decision is comprehensive, balanced, and well-substantiated,” the tribunal said. “It is to be taken as the authoritative judgement on this issue.”
